Estonia’s Marek Kaldaäär wins the Tallinn Summer Showdown Opening Event
The opening event with a buy-in of 220€ attracted a record amount of 147 entries to the tournament, boosting the total prize pool up to a whopping 27 930€! The tournament started on July 23 at 20:00 and the winner was crowned at midnight.
After a deal was agreed on heads-up between eventual champion Marek Kaldaäär and runner-up Jani Touvinen, the play continued for a short time until Kaldaäär beat Tuovinen in heads-up play to claim the trophy and added 1100€ Main Event ticket for his effort.

Champions to be crowned
Wednesday 24th, the second day of the festival, featured six different tournaments. Two of them – 550€ Championship Event and 330€ Bounty – were two-day events. Both tournaments continue today at 21:00 and the final results will be released tomorrow.
In the Championship Event, 17 players out of 173 entries made it to the money and final day, including 4 Estonians.
Bounty tournament played down to final 6 from 88 runners. The final 6 are heavily dominated by Finnish players, featuring only one Estonian.

The Main Event kicked off today and is on schedule to break yet another record
The 1100€ buy-in Main Event day 1 started today at lunch-time and with players slowly but surely joining the action, over 150 entries were made at the beginning of level 7. For the record, last year's Main Event had 165 entries. Players can late register and re-enter the tournament until the end of level 9, which is the first level of day 2. Main Event will be played over the course of four days, with the final table being played on Sunday and streamed live.

Team Competition is live and team VIP takes the lead
With David Sofio finishing 3rd in the Opening Event, team VIP has taken the early lead but is tailed by Team Rainbow and Onnenpekat. The Team Competition is looking to become one fierce fight, as many teams have excellent players capable of winning any tournament here at Tallinn Summer Showdown.
